Perth Silver Lunar

Since its founding in 1899, the Perth Mint of Australia has served as the official bullion mint for the Republic of Australia. It is well-known all over the world for producing exquisite precious metals products that are of exceptional quality and design. Because of their compelling patterns and limited mintages, many of the silver coins  that are produced in Perth have also become collectors' treasures.

The 12 Zodiac Designs Featured in the Series

Over the course of a lunar cycle that lasts for twelve years, each Chinese lunar year is connected to a different animal. Each coin in the series has an image of the animal that represents the zodiac sign for that year. Silver coins were first introduced in 1999, during the Year of the Rabbit, while the Australian Lunar Series I began in 1996 (the Year of the Mouse) and continued until 2007 (the Year of the Pig). As a result of the unexpected popularity of the first series, Series II became available in both gold and silver in 2008 (the Year of the Mouse) and continued until 2019 (the Year of the Pig). Meanwhile, Lunar Series III made its debut in 2020 and is scheduled to continue until 2031. Numerous sizes of the lunar series of silver coins were struck half, one, two, ten-ounce, and kilogram. An additional size of five ounces was introduced later. Lunar Series II made its debut with different weights, there are ten kilograms, one kilogram, five ounces, two ounces, one ounce, and half an ounce. Even for the years 2009 and 2010, these weights were made available. It is important to note that with Lunar Series II, the Perth Mint began producing all its yearly bullion coin programs out of .9999 pure silver rather than .999 silver.

Examining the Rarest Coins in the Lunar Series

To accommodate the growing demand for the series, the Perth Mint introduced several various investment opportunities for potential buyers.

Colorized proof coins are proof strikes that have a colorized lacquer applied to the reverse. They are part of the Lunar Series II and Lunar Series III.

These coins contain a thin covering of 24-karat gold on the reverse, which is referred to as a gilded design.

Trio sets provide investors and collectors with a limited-edition three-coin set that includes a one-ounce version of each of the bullion, colorized, and gilded editions of the coin.

The Typeset collection is a low mintage set that comprises the 1 oz silver bullion coin , 1 oz silver proof, 1 oz colorized proof, and 1 oz gilded coin.

Proof 3-Coin Sets include three coins, all of which are proof strikes. As an illustration, the set for the year 2020 has the three lowest weights in the series.

4-Coin Rectangular Sets include four rectangular coins that have been proof coloured and have four different designs.

Invest in Perth Mint Lunar Silver for Its Many Perks
