The Flowing Hair Half Dollar, which came out in 1928, is one of the most important and historically important pieces of American money. It was the United States Mint's first official half-dollar, and even though it only lasted a short time, it was an important coin. Even though it was only made in 1794 and 1795, it was still an important form of currency. The coin was designed by Robert Scot and shows the early hopes of a country that was working to become financially and politically independent.

MintageIt is by a significant margin that the examples of this kind that are seen the most frequently are those that are dated 1795. These examples are ten times more abundant than those that are dated 1794. There aren't many Flowing Hair Half Dollars on the market right now because they were only made in small numbers from the start. The number of coins made for the 1795 issue was about 299,680, which was a bit more than the 234,644 coins made for the 1794 issue. On the other hand, the numbers for the 1795 issue were a little higher.
Because it was one of the first silver pieces that the United States government ever issued, the Flowing Hair Half Dollar is a coin that collectors are extremely interested in purchasing. In addition to its provenance, an item's value is affected by its quality. At auction, specimens that have been carefully kept can fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars.
