The Peace Dollar is one of the most famous silver coins in American history. It was struck sometime between 1921 and 1935. This lovely coin was created to honour the end of World War I and represents peace and strength.
After World War I ended in 1918, there was a strong desire to create a currency that would represent America's commitment to peace. The Pittman Act of 1918 required that millions of silver coins be melted down and reprinted. This act allowed to produce the Peace Dollar, which was used as a replacement for the Morgan Dollar. In December 1921, the first Peace Silver Dollar was produced. Anthony DeFrancisci is the designer of this.
The Peace Dollar was produced from 1921 until 1928, and then it was brought again for a short time between 1934 and 1935. The following are some of the most significant problems:
Because of its age, the Peace dollar is also a popular option for coin collectors. This coin has been around for over 100 years, and many of them are still in fine condition. It is hardly surprising that so many collectors would want to buy and retain the coins, considering their rich cultural background, design, and silver content.
Examples that are high-relief and low-mintage, especially those that are uncirculated, are sold at a higher price than usual. Additionally, their silver content provides them with intrinsic value, making them a reliable investment during periods of economic instability.
